Mercury in the 4th house
The 4th house: Home, family, roots and private foundations.
With Mercury in the fourth house, much of your thinking happens at home and turns towards home. Family stories, the way people talked around the table when you were young, and questions about where you come from can all shape your mind deeply. You may love reading or working from a favourite corner, and your home may fill up with books, papers and half-finished projects.
You often learn best where you feel safe. Private study, long talks with people you trust and reflection on memory tend to suit you more than public debate. Many people with this placement are interested in history, genealogy or the inner life, and you may find you understand yourself better by tracing patterns back to your early years.
The difficulty is that old family voices can echo in your head as worry or self-criticism, and you may find it hard to switch off when you come home. Household conversations can become a place where tension is talked around rather than spoken plainly. It helps to notice which beliefs you inherited and which you have actually chosen, and to make your home a place where honest, kind talk is possible, including the talk you have with yourself.
