With Mars in the fourth house, a great deal of your energy is invested in home and family. You may be the one who renovates, rearranges or fixes things, and you often feel protective of the people under your roof. Your sense of security can be fierce, and you may want a home that is truly your own, where you are free to do as you please.
You tend to fight for your roots and your private life. Much of your drive may come from early experiences, whether a lively, energetic household or one where tension was in the air. Either way, you may carry a strong inner engine that pushes you to build a safe base.
The shadow side is that conflict often surfaces at home. Frustration from the outside world may be brought back and let out on family members, or old family tensions may flare when you visit. Anger can also be held inside until it erupts. Constructive outlets include practical home projects, gardening, cooking with gusto and physical exercise that helps you discharge stress before you walk through the door. It helps to talk openly about tensions early, and to let home be a place of rest as well as effort.
