Mercury in the 12th house
The 12th house: What is hidden or withdrawn: solitude, retreat, the unconscious, institutions.
With Mercury in the twelfth house, a lot of your thinking happens quietly, out of view. You may process ideas best in solitude, through journaling, dreams, imagination or long walks alone. Your mind can be intuitive and sensitive, picking up moods and impressions that are hard to put into words. Poetry, music, symbolism and spiritual or psychological reading may speak to you more than plain facts.
You often learn by absorbing rather than by studying in the usual way, and an idea may surface fully formed after a period of rest. Work behind the scenes, research, care work or writing that others will read later can suit you, because you do not need an audience to think well.
The difficulty is that you may doubt your own voice, hold back from speaking up, or keep important thoughts to yourself until they turn into worry. Anxious thinking can run in the background without you quite noticing. Misunderstandings may arise because you assume others know what you meant. What helps is giving private thoughts a regular outlet, checking your interpretations with someone you trust, and learning that your quieter way of knowing is a strength.
