Scryway

Sun–Venus synastry

When one person’s Sun and the other’s Venus are joined by a major aspect. It reads the same whichever person has which.

Conjunction (0°)

The two points together, blending.

One person’s Venus sits on the other’s Sun, bringing warmth, appreciation and a liking for each other’s company. The Venus person often finds the Sun person attractive in some sense, whether that means admiring their style, enjoying their presence or simply feeling at ease. The Sun person tends to bring out the Venus person’s charm and generosity. In a close relationship this can feel affectionate and pleasurable; in friendship or work it shows up as goodwill and shared taste. The risk is flattery or indulgence: avoiding difficult truths to keep things pleasant, or the Venus person adapting too much to please. Affection lasts best when it includes honest feedback as well as compliments.

Trine (120°) and sextile (60°)

Harmonious contacts: ease, or an opening that rewards effort.

Your Sun and their Venus, or the other way round, sit in sympathetic signs, so liking each other comes fairly easily. A trine tends to feel natural from the start; a sextile grows as you spend time together and choose to show appreciation. You may share tastes in food, music, places or humour, and small kindnesses pass between you without fuss. In a close relationship the contact adds warmth and ease; with friends or colleagues it supports good manners and cooperation. Its main weakness is that pleasantness can become a habit that avoids anything awkward. Let the goodwill carry honest conversations too, so the ease rests on real understanding rather than on keeping the peace.

Square (90°) and opposition (180°)

Challenging contacts: friction and attraction that ask for work.

One person’s Sun and the other’s Venus are at odds, so liking may come with a sense of mismatch. With a square, what one values may clash with how the other likes to live, which needs addressing directly; with an opposition, you can feel drawn to each other precisely because you differ, then pulled apart by the same difference. The Venus person may feel unappreciated, or the Sun person may feel judged on style rather than substance. There is often real fondness here; the work lies in tastes, spending habits or ways of showing affection. Speak plainly about what pleases you, and accept that pleasure can look quite different for the other person.
