Scryway

Card 7 of 36 · playing card Q♣ · a difficult card

Snake

complication · desire · a detour · rivalry

Meaning

The long way round. The Snake brings complications, winding paths and sometimes a rival or a tempting person whose aims are their own. It is also intelligence and desire: knowing what you want and going about it indirectly.

As a person

A clever or seductive woman, a rival, someone with an agenda.

In combinations

First in a pair, the Snake names a complication or a roundabout route. Second, it describes the card before it: something that is complicated, indirect or tangled with desire.

  • Snake + Heart: Desire mixed with complication; an attraction with strings attached.
  • Snake + Fox: Double caution: deception or manipulation is likely.

As a house in the Grand Tableau

Position 7 is the house of the Snake. Complications: detours, rivals and hidden motives.
