Card 13 of 36 · playing card J♠ · a favourable card

Child

a new start · smallness · innocence · a child

Meaning

Something new and small: a beginning, a fresh project, a little of something. The Child can mean an actual child, or trust, playfulness and inexperience. It shrinks or renews the cards beside it.

As a person

A child, a young person, someone naive or new to a situation.

In combinations

First in a pair, the Child names a new beginning, or a child. Second, it describes the card before it: something that is new, small or inexperienced.

  • Coffin + Child: A new beginning after an ending.
  • Child + Stork: A new arrival, or a small, welcome change.

As a house in the Grand Tableau

Position 13 is the house of the Child. Beginnings: what is new, young or small.
